How many rounds through the rifle? How big is the bolt gap? (Is there even a bolt gap left at all?) Could be worn out rollers from whatever parts kit it was built from. More likely though is that the trunnion steel softened during the re-weld and has worn out in the pocket areas where the rollers lock into. Hesse rifles have kind of a reputation for doing that. If thats the case, you might get a few more miles out of it by going to some + sized rollers, but eventually that will fail too and the rifle will make a nice lamp or toilet paper holder at that point.

I have owned (3) hesse AR10 lowers and (1) vulcan V15 A2

The V15 was not bad, I lucked out

the AR10's were back in the day and vulcan had taken the time to send a pinned example to CADOJ and had a letter of approval from Iggy

They've been sucking out loud for almost 25 years now - I'm amazed any of their firearms are still in service. OTHER than as 'spare parts,' that is.

I did some research on the 50 BMG's they made and they damn near killed a few people. One guy had the bolt launch back into his should and another dude lost several fingers from the firing pin detonating a round while loading it. Bad juju. That's when they were Vulcan...
