USGI web sling help!

So I got a black USGI web sling for my OLL carbine. I'm unfamilliar with how to instal it properly. I know that it's easy to snap on the clip for the buttsock swivel but when I wanted to pull in all of the extra slack in the front I was left with a long strip of hanging sling material that makes the sling look stupid. I just got this sling in the mail today and I know someone out there can help me. Thanks

Slide the front buckle farther back.

Thanks! I really like this heavy cotton sling. It's amazingly rugged feeling. It really complements the rifle. I think I'm done adding stuff for it. :-)
