It is all preference, but I just picked up a Spikes Tactical from Joe Bobs as I have ordered a ton from them. Great prices, free shipping over $90, they ship in 10 mins, and fast delivery. After many rounds I may Micro Slick it, but that is down the road.

Does anyone have experience or opinions on the 2 niB BCG below? Should I go with aim or ares? If so which one should I get?

          TheOriginal,

Since you in the OC why don't you just drive to Riflegear in Fountain Valley and get one of there? I beleive there own brand is mande by Fail Zero.

One one of my rifle I've been running a NIB and haven't encountered any issues with them. My buddies version has reported flaking on the sharp edges so how the actual material is applied eluded me still.

I have 2 nib bcgs one wmd and the other is that same aimsurplus one. The wmd one is at about 600 rds and has some discoloration around the ejection side. Not worried about it though cause it isn't flaking so i could buff/polish it out if i really wanted to. The aimsurplus one only has 200 rds so far and looks exactly the same as he day it arrived staked good and no signs of operating flaws or discoloring. I have heard of guys getting ones with the rust issue and contacting aim will send them new ones no problem.

I second this suggestion. I bought a RifleGear NiB bolt carrier group, and when I opened up the box when I got home there was a FailZero instruction sheet inside.

You could even order one over there website and ask them to ship it to you via UPS ground and it should be at your door the following day since your a local boy.

My AIM NiB BCG flaked after 60 rounds, I sent it back for their excellent C-128 parked bolt for $89.

I've never had any good experience with NiB bolts, nothing wrong with parked bolts and some decent lube like Slip.

what kind of lubes can I use for bcgs? I decided to cancel my order for the 79 dollar aim bcg. Im going to wait for the black nitride v2 to go back in stock or save up for a fail zero

My buddy had good luck so far with his AU NiB set, which looks suspiciously like the AIM budget NiB unit (goldish color which looks more like nickel plate).
It's still surviving use in his pistol.

I've run the OLD ice arms NiB unit with no flaking issues (proper grayish NiB color), as well as one of the Midwest PX ones they used to sell.
The Midwest PX unit is one of the best BCGs I have- machining is excellent,. and it hasn't discolored yet.

But if I were to buy a BCG now, I'd probably stick to BCM. Or get a JP setup if you want something fancy, those are some quality carriers.

I don't see how you can possibly beat that deal. I'm thinking of grabbing a couple just to have as spares. $99 for a complete NiB Bolt Carrier Group is such a buy, it isn't even worth the time to look elsewhere.

from research Ive read that the ares armor nib bcgs are partial nib... I could be wrong. I dont want to run that risk. Rather just save up a couple more and get something reliable

                              TheOriginal,

For myself I basically use anything available. Currently using an old bottle of "Firepower" cuz I have so many samples on my shelf I can have enough for the next 5 years!

My personal choice would be "Breakfree" as a standard. Just use it in plentiful amounts where it's needed. I use it on the gas rings, bolt lugs, ejector and put one/two drops down the gas ports on the side and gas key and lastly the BC rails.
