It can only be sold out of state since it is On-List. Trying to get it out of state puts you at risk of felony AW possession.

I would think it could be sold to LE.

In this situation, the gun cannot be sold to regular civilians, it IS in fact listed and banned for us peasants. The only people he could sell it to is LE but I hope he has the proper "assault weapons" licensing with the state, otherwise all kinds of spooky sh*t is going on there, and yes, a regular civilian in possession of that with or without a bullet button is a felony unless it was registered with the state from years back.

I just moved to a free state and the first thing I did was buy this, JUST BECAUSE of the fact it's banned in CA:

Not all FFLs operate the same way. Word is that here in Utah there was a gun shop years back that got closed down. It got closed down because the dude's bound book was a mess and he was unknowingly selling ARs there were semi-only but that had FA parts and sears. I wouldn't buy anything except mags and ammo in cash from that place if they're selling XM15 lowers to civilians and telling them it's all good with a bullet button. Don't have any kind of paper trail with a soon-to-be-out-of-business like that.

As a former gun shop employee in a CA FFL, I wonder what would happen if we were DROSing AR lowers to people and in the "MODEL NAME" box we were putting "XM15." I'm sure we'd get a call from CA DOJ REAL quick.

It's been said like 10 times, but yeah, it's banned by name.

Not really sure why you care so much or are so interested in going back down to the LGS and ragging' on them about it though. *shrug*.

MYOB is basically how I feel.

...Because it's the RIGHT thing to do. The guns laws are stupid here in CA. It's often difficult to figure out what's legal and what's not. Obviously, the FFL dropped the ball here. Often times we as Calgunners are more aware of the laws than dealers. Had I not said something, potentially an average Joe would walk into that LGS and purchased said lower. After 10 days he takes possession of an AW. Should he ever have his rifle checked by a knowledgeable LEO, BAM, a felony AW charge. He says he legally got it from so-and-so LGS, and they get busted too. Maybe average Joe is able to plead it down, but I wouldn't count on it. The LGS surely loses his FFL. Many lives ended up ruined because I didn't speak up. Now the news headlines, "Local Gun Shop Busted For Selling Illegal Assault Weapons," and "Father OF Three Charged With Illegal Assault Weapon." I can tell you Kamala, DeLeon, Steinberg, and the rest will run with it saying how these laws are effective at curbing gun violence, and use this to justify even more anti-gun laws. I'm personnally sick and tired of seeing our gun rights taken away little by little here in CA. So as far as I'm concerned, it was totally worth it to spend an hour of my day off and use my gas to try and convince said LGS that he was making a huge mistake. Chance put me there in that LGS on that particular day, as I rarely go there.

So if you feel that you should "MYOB", that's fine and I can respect that. However, I would like to preserve what little of the 2nd Amendment we have here in CA, so I choose to do the right thing.

You did right op, but as I think 9m62 was meaning to say, the shop is more than likely taking offense to you trying to help but all you can do is try. Hopefully they take your advice

                  Interesting situation here.

While this should be treated as a banned-by name lower, I note it is marked as "Ilion, NY" instead of "Windham, ME".

These are two separate Bushmaster entities. Could be relevant.
