Converting RAW HK USC to UMP - Done! Pics Added

I finally ordered the parts from HKParts.net to convert my USC to UMP.

I believe I have the 922r areas covered, are there any other pitfalls to avoid?

Since my USC is a RAW, can I keep the folding stock I ordered operational or do I need to pin it?

As long as your over 30 inches folded your california good. I believe you also need to be 26 inches including barrel something something federal requirements. Better check not 100% on fed req. post pics of the conversions I might do mine as well in the future.

Looks like you already aware your going to need to swap a few parts out for 922R compliance.

Must maintain 16" barrel and if Cali RAW overall length of 26" , the 30" is only a Caly thing for non RAW's .

If RAW , your good to go on folder if you maintain the 26" overall length and 922R compliant.

I didn't know USC's made it to market in time to become RAW's.

Yes, in addition to the UMP lower and stock I ordered a HDPS stock block (does NOT count toward 922r), hammer trigger, and sear. Those should cover the 922R req's.

Update: I already had a UMP 10/25 magazine with a USA-produced floor plate so my three 922r parts are: Trigger, Sear, and Mag Floorplate.

My thanks to the posters pointing out the 922r requirements!

It is a RAW and the 16" barrel will be remaining in place. I'm not sure what the OAL will be with the folding stock. I'll be sure to measure but I'm fairly certain it'll be OK.

Yep, bought it in '99, registered it a year or so later when became required by law. Got the letter from Bill Lockyer safely locked away.

Since I ended up hating the ergonomics on the USC it's been sitting in the safe pretty much ever since.

Thanks for all the great info & replies, I really appreciate them!

Some posts at HKPro state the OAL with the HDPS stock block and factory barrel is 16.75" 26.75" with the stock folded. Excellent!

I will of course be verifying that info.

Edit: Thanks brianm767, I did indeed mean 26.75". Fixed.

Is HKparts still shipping stuff? I would be surprised considering their situation.

Oh no, I don't like the sound of that.

I bought a minor part from them last week to check them out and received it right on time. The big order I put in last night and received the shipping confirmation email this morning.

We'll see what happens I guess...

Me being a lefty, the darn thing folds the wrong way for me so it's not a huge deal. Just a nice "extra" I guess.

Yikes! That's not good news for Adam, hope it works out OK for him soon.

My conv parts are supposed to be here on Monday so we'll see what happens.

Wow a registered USC? Very nice.
Don't waste time with silly parts. You are in luck. The ump45 USA mags are out now and hkparts has them in stock for 50 each. They have all the USA parts you need for compliance so you can leave everything else German HK. What I would do is find someone out of state who can block them for you. Also, get a sef tactical UMP dual mag clamp so you can have two pinned 10 rounders for quick mag changes. Its nice not to have to use a bullet button huh?
