Daniel Defense DDM4v3 or something else?

Been researching for a bit. Buying my first rifle. Keeping price under $1800.

The DD looks very high quality and I love the features it comes with. Any others out there around the same price point that deserve some consideration?

I've got three Daniel Defense rifles. A v1, a v7lw, and a mk18. I run the snot out off all three.

Great rifles that are a real value. You'll love any of their guns.

DD makes great rifles. I bought one for a friend, they shoot very well and are high quality.

The other ones you might check out are BCM and Noveske (Noveske is a bit pricey however). I own BCM and Noveske, and DD is excellent as well.

Because I own several rifles, the DD of interest to me is the DD Mk12 SPR.

With DD you probably cannot go wrong, it just depends on the type of rifle and configuration. I would suggest a mid-length gas system and a 16 inch barrel so you can change the muzzle device if you want to.

      That's it. Have fun.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

As a dedicated DD fanboy, I can honestly say you won't regret getting the DDM4v3.

I too decided on DD but a mid-length gas system.

I have a V7 and I absolutely love mine. The quality is outstanding and it is one of the best shooting and accurate rifles I own.

With that said the v3 would be a solid choice, but really you have to get this v11 instead:
Find the full line of firearms, parts and accessories from Daniel Defense, including AR-15’s, AR-Pistols and Bolt Action Rifles for sport shooting and hunting.

BCM are great as well, recently completed a build and they are right up there with DD in build quality, plus their KMR rail is very light and comfortable. For me DD is my go to rifle since I've sent more rounds downrange with it and it has proven reliable.

I would caution you against Noveske though. I have one of their uppers and it was not worth the money. Build quality left much to be desired and they never responded to my email. There are many high dollar brands out there and some are worth the money, Noveske is not.

After handling just about every AR-type offered at last year's SHOT Show, I narrowed it down to DD or BCM for quality vs. value.

I chose the BCM based mostly on the weight savings of their KMR handguards.

I have a friend who has both a DD (v7) and a BCM KMR 16" and they are both great guns, but the BCM was superior in training classes
