New and last purchase - Vepr 7.62x39

Here is what I think is my last firearm purchase. It's a vepr 7.62x39. Purchased it from classic firearms right after the ban was passed. I have to say that it was a pleasure dealing with classic firearms all the way through the end. I am extremely happy with the rifle. The stock is gorgeous. It's hard to see in the pictures but the butt-stock has some tiger striping to it. The quality is superb compared to my Romanian m10 and my Saigas. I will probably stick with iron sights on this one and possibly use for hunting.

    Good luck with that.

I said that after I bought my mini-14, 16 other gun purchases(and some sales) later I finally gave up and admitted it will never stop.

      I've heard that before...
The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria)"

Congrats, OP. The VEPR is one of my favorite rifles and would be the last gun I ever depart with. If you haven't already, make plans to install a bullet guide and file the mag catch so you can start using surplus AK mags. They'll be cheaper and easier to find than the proprietary VEPR magazines.

LOL ^^^ This... OP it won't be your last i know it won't be, it's better to say "it'll be a while till you get a new gun " haha

and congrats , i'm waiting for my Vepr 12, but they're stuck in customs due to stupid obama's cronies dragging their feet to OK the shipment through and taking their precious time to OK the paper work, and i too bought from classic. Not their fault, but ugh, just wished they release it already. It sucks cuz they had to send like 3 delay emails already , and this was supposed to be released to us on July 28

                  Don't forget about 922r compliance.

When you add the bullet guide it becomes capable of accpeting large capacity military magazines, which makes it unimportable and subject to 922r.

Just get a g2 trigger, if you need more parts the piston and mag plates/followers are the easiest way to go

Nice, I like the vepr thumbhole rifles. Was eyeballing the 54r one for purchase down the road until they got railroaded.

tell me about it. I was all set to buy a vepr x54 and 10 spam cans, but the model i wanted was pricey BEFO the unconstitutional executive order. They're still out there, but prices havent improved.

But really, it's still not a an awful buy at all if you are committed to just go for it and buy a ton of ammo at the same time. price of gun might be high, but it's not like they're giving away 30 cal battle rifles from any country. And you will "break even" real quick shooting milsurp x54 compared to the guys with their PTRs and FALs shooting x51.

I just spent too much money on too many other things since the EO to do that right now.
