    modify telescoping stock

I'm thinking about making a Just Right Carbine in 45 acp into a featureless rifle.
It currently has a six position stock which is AR compatible and an AR compatible hand grip. From what I've read I could get a monsterman grip and peg the stock to make it non collapsible. Right?
What's the best way to peg the stock? Can I just swap out the spring/detent for a bolt and thread insert. It would allow me to adjust the stock with a screwdriver/allen driver but be considered fixed because it needs a tool right?
My JRC currently uses 1911 magazines and would love to be able to use it in multi-gun compitions where pistol caliber carbines are allowed. Plus home defense with a rifle chambered for .45acp is nice as long as I don't have a stupid bullet button.

That's exactly what I'm thinking about. Just to be sure that is Kalifornia kosher?

If you can't adjust the stock with the screw in place, it's fixed.

I haven't heard the term "telescopic stock" in a long while.

          How about the FRS-15?

If you want to adjust the stock I would advise putting the BB back on it first. Otherwise, when you remove the pin you have a collapsible stock.

What about breaking the AR in half. At that point it's non-functioning.

Whether or not it functions may or may not matter. However, at that point the lower isn't semiautomatic or centerfire so my best guess (IANAL) is that you'd be safe.

I've just replaced the pivot/detent with a bolt. Threaded into the stock and just long enough that it screws into the holes of the buffer tube. If I loosen the screw with the screwdriver to adjust it is loose and non functional. I could take off the trigger group while doing this to be safe but using a screwdriver to adjust the stock is like needing a bullet to eject a magazine too me? If you need a tool to eject or adjust something then it really is fixed right??

as long as your work area isn't the reception desk at the DOJ, you should be ok.
