I had a NiB BCG from them on my first AR. It was nice, got the blemished, and it had a weird cascaded look as if the coating hadn't fully mixed or something. I only fired 30 rounds before I sold it, but those were flawless.

If I move forward with this venture I can assure everyone that you WILL receive what you paid for in a timely manner and in the future I would hope to offer a line of our own quality parts at fair prices with good customer service.

I've been reading various forums and have seen the terrible customer service and failure to deliver product. I'm also aware that at least some of their parts do have quality control issues. While I will not be able to correct IA quality control issues on current stock, neither do I want to be delivering poor quality parts to customers. In that end, I want to ask you all - what products of IA would you consider to be problematic and/or flat out scrap metal?

      thanks for you input.
      P51bombay,

I've heard over then net that Ice has had quality control issues only. I have no real experience with their rifles. I admit I have one of there BCG's in black nitrite and want to try it out in a builds towards the end of the year.

In my opinion quality control question can be asked in every manufacturer. They all tote CNC machines are used but still they all can put out a lemon.

        Hit and miss.
I would have every component inspected.
Problem is, that will take money and with the bad reputation they managed to get, you would have to nearly give the stuff away.
And your name and reputation will be attached to it forever.

You might be buying inventory that was sold & never delivered. I ordered & paid for a barrel on July 27 that has never been delivered. Colin insisted on being paid by Paypal. As of today my Paypal claim is still open.

Taking peoples' money and not delivering product, problematic returns/service. I'd be very careful buying out their inventory unless you are there in person and it is in front of you. Even then some of it might be items that were paid for but never delivered.

They use an extremely weak extractor spring with no crane ring. Problematic for over gassed/short barreled ARs. Also the machining on mine is quite rough. This is a NiB BCG.

Since then, I buy Stag, BCM, & DD bcgs for back-ups.

                      P51bombay,

I have no personal experience with ICE ARMS directly BUT I did buy one of there BCG's for my AR build and would be very upset if it doesn't work right when my finish my build. In all essence it appears to be top notch but the proof is when I pull the trigger.

I had a huge suspicion this dude was a tweaker when I talked to him on the phone last year. He talked big but never came through so I wrote them off as an establishment who's mouths write checks their butts cannot cash.
I am glad he never came through on the 6.8 bolts he promised me.
The only way I would buy off their stock is if I could verify with 100% certainty that the stock is not orders that were paid but never sent and also that the barrels and such are not out of spec.
I have seen promising companies have to shut down becuase of huge investments in parts that turned out to be out of spec.

I put together some builds that included included some IA items during the whole "gun crunch" of 2012/13. The few BCG I saw were staked fine and they ran well (I upgrade the extractor spring but I do that on all BCG's). I'm not a fan of cast extractors but that part is easy enough to replace and even brands like Fail Zero use cast extractors some times.

The problems that I did see were with their later barrels. Whoever did the "nitride" job on their barrels did them poorly. The chambers were very rough and I had to hone out the chambers. The bores also had a lot of residue in them and had to be thoroughly cleaned out. Also, as Randall stated, the gas ports were oversized. Customer service with them DEFINITELY SUCKED BAD. I mean as horrible as can be.

The ones I built up and test fired all ran fine after some finessing (honing, cleaning, etc.)...however, with the market as it is now, there are SO MANY better options out there that I would avoid any IA products.
