    New Upper Question

Today I received my upper in the mail, so I was really excited about that fact the whole day. When I started looking over my newly purchased upper a light gray streak on both sides of the A2 front post right next to the hand guard stuck out out and caught my attention.

I was wondering what might of caused this? I know that this mark is only cosmetic, but it is kind of pissing me off. Any thoughts?

Uneven finish maybe, I'm guessing its not supposed to be a blemished upper?

The good news is as you get older none of this stuff seems to matter any longer. At one time something like that would have bothered me as well. Use it and it will get more marks made by you. Just enjoy it.

Unless you're displaying the gun up on your wall, it's probably worth it to just get over it. It's definitely not pristine, but I don't know if it's worth the hassle to try and replace it. You may be more motivated than me to do that, though.

As far as fixing it's concerned, it might be something on top of the surface rather than a spot that's missing finish. Have you tried hitting it with some Hoppes?

This is my thought as well. You could hit it with a sharpie.

So who made the offending upper? Inquiring minds want to know.
