    What's your goto ar15 barrel

    I need to choose a barrel. 16" - 18" mid length gas.

    Shooting 55 - 62 gn .223 .556 @ steel 100 yards.

Not sure what twist rate or if I should try a wylde chamber.

Please post if you have a barrel to recommend that has worked good for you.

    Thanks

My go to AR15 barrel is Randall

ETD: I go with a 16" pencil barrel. It's plenty accurate for hitting 10" dongs and light enough to shoot off hand.

Both really... I plan on throwing Walmart ammo at steel plates at 100 yards and I can share some of my rem 700 .223 handloads and put it on a bench.

14.5 Noveske Skinny Mo barrel is my favorite go to rifle. Its super-light and consistently very accurate. Yes, it heats up pretty fast, but cools down faster than my Noveske Afghan SS heavy barrel build. I want another one.

My Daniel Defense 16" pencil is pretty good. I got a DTI 1/9 non chrome 20" that is super accurate.

                  5.56 - 223-remington-wylde-medium-contour-1-in-8-twist in a 18" stainless-steel barrel and never look back ! It does it all !

A 16" long 223 wylde chambered lightweight barrel with a 1:9 twist would be my pick for that job.

You will have to shop around.
I don't deal in parts so I don't keep track of who makes what and what they sell it for.

Google turns up these, but they are 1:8 twist:
