    KG devastator AR upper?

Anyone who is an AR enthusiast know anything about this upper? Would like to get an AR pistol going before the ban in January so just wondering if this is any good?

^this, and that looks a bit longer than 10.5... Could be my eyes tho.

Suspect of functionality being already decked out and only $300. Doesn't seem kosher.

      Cool looking tho

Yeah...I'm currently looking at this too. Want to get that for my AR lower, just need some feedback before pulling the trigger on it.

you don't need to dros a home built
if you want to, you just build it as a single shot, then put in a 10rd mag & bb and voltenter reg it as a semi auto.no need to sse it as it's home built

several times people have quoted exact law on why,I don't remember it 100% so I won't try to post that part.

SSE laws certainly apply to home builds. Where have you read that they don't? Building an AR pistol in 2015 is a good way to commit a felony.

Um, "build it as a single shot" is how SSE works.

(Assuming you believe the whole thing is legal, which I'm on the fence about.)

                      ya I know
                      but different
if you don't build it single shot 1st you have created a AW in the eys of CALIF law
but since it's a home build it does not meet the new law requirements.
& since after you built it & SSE & converted it to semi auto, you are free to regester it if you wish
just do the SN manufactore & city state ( YOUR NAME CITY STATE)

not clear if you have to do the ATF stated engraved depth to regester, but if you were to sell that is required.

That upper looks nice, but, at $385 without a BCG seems kind of pricey for unknown parts.

I'm not sure I am following or buying into the logic of having to build it as a single shot as a home build. I know why you have to do it for SSE...and it is perfectly legal (until the first of the year at least).

What you can not do with the home build is build it as a rifle. Once a rifle, always a rifle. So if you slip a stock on their, from a legal perspective it is a rifle from that point on and if the barrel is short (like on this upper) then you just built an SBR. I think that is the concept you're getting mixed up in your head.

So long as the bullet button is installed and you are running a 10 round or fewer magazine you are compliant with the law. The only reason for single shot sled was to meet the SSE requirements for DROS.

I was under the impression you needed to register all handguns, even home builds. And that could be where the need to make it SSE compliant comes into play. If you have to take it to an FFL to register it. But I thought you could do that simply by mailing in some paperwork? You wouldn't need to do it on a long gun, though after the first of the year that is changing to my understanding. Would love for somebody to show me what part of the CCR covers this and explain why we don't if in fact we don't? Heck I would love it if somebody like Bill Wise would explain how this process works with regards to home builds from a legal perspective. Better to get it from a legal egg head who knows the nuts and bolts and a cite the specific parts and CCR that apply along the way.

Oh, and don't take my comments personally. They are not an attack. I get legal concepts mixed up and turned around in my head all the time. And I don't know all that much about home built receivers. When it comes to my lowers, I've always bought them finished. Same goes with my AR pistols. But I do know SB23 pretty darn well. My livelihood depends on it.

you can not home built an UNSAFE hangun,(IE not on roster) so you SSE it for all of 10miliseconds
no you do not have to register a homemade handgun
just be aware if builiding oher then a popular one, you could be building a "ZIP" gun

                              AR pistols are stupid.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.
