    Threaded ar barrel

So I am barrel shopping for my 80% ar pistol and I remember someone saying no threaded barrels which leads me to
My question... Can you pin a muzzle brake to a threaded barrel? And by pinning I mean just tac the brake to the barrel?

You can have a threaded barrel on an AR pistol because of the magazine lock. If no magazine lock then the threaded barrel wouldn't be the only problem...

Not required when mag not in grip. Use search function.

UMD is right. A threaded barrel is an issue if the gun accepts a detachable magazine. If it does not (usually accomplished with a Bullet Button), there is no issue with having a threaded barrel.

I'm new to AR pistols but if you get a barrel that isn't threaded can you get rid of the mag lock? I have tried to read up on pistols and their FAQ but haven't seen it all yet.

            No - see Post #2

Mag outside of grip is the issue
