    Krink question

If I build a krink with the stock CLOSED and locked, and the only way to open it is with a tool can I build it as a pistol? Or is that still a no no? I want to build it and apply for a SBR when I leave the glorious state and I don't want to have to demil the handgun to throw a stock on it

either build it with a pistol rear trunnion or build it like mine with a 16 inch barrel.

I have one with the barrel extension on it but I want to use it as a pistol so I don't have to use that stupid extension.

you might be able to argue a case if you install the folding rear trunnion but never pin the stock in place. kind of how a ar15 carbine stock can be used for pistols if you some how make it harder to add a stock.

That too, less hassle is better. I'll just stick with extensions hahah

Why not? ATF&E has approved other handguns with stocks WELDED closed. If the OP is willing to WELD the stock closed, I'll bet ATF would not have a problem with it being a handgun. The OP should send ATF a letter asking their opinion.

What if I cap the stock button and find something to weld to the CAP so I don't weld the actual button?

I'm digging the letter to the ATF, I'll do that

                    This!

They have allowed UZI pistols, and even Mac pistol builds to have welded stocks.
And of course the PPSH43 pistols that were commercially available with welded stocks

because if you read what the op said he never mentioned anything about welding. he said locked closed so that you need a tool to open. that is why i said its a no go.

I agree with you there but, there are ways for him to legally do it if he wants to permanently weld it closed.

From the pistols that were BATFE approved, the stocks are welded closed. Welds on the folding mechanism and welds on the stock to the receiver.

I'll have to ask the ATF what'll be "permanent" because I don't want to alter the krink to much, and it wouldn't be worth it in my opinion.

I appreciate your guys help, I'll hold off on building it till the ATF replies. I'll just shoot the c39 micro to ease the itch hahah
