Marlin 39a VS Henry Golden Boy

I'm really interested in buying a lever action .22 cal rifle to add to my collection, and these two seem like the best of the best. I already own a few semi-auto .22's (a Ruger 10/22 among them), and I have a Henry pump
.22 (It's one of my favorites), also own one bolt .22 (CZ 452 lux), so the natural thing to do would be a lever action .22lr.
I'd really like to people who've had experience with both, but if you own either one, and really like it, please let me know the reasons.
    Thanks

I've never fired a lever action Marlin, but I have fired a bolt action Marlin and must say it was of good quality.

A Marlin is quality and will always hold its value.

Then check for Henry's Golden Boy. (it ain't 100+ pages long )

The 39 and any of it's cousins date way back. All things considered the Marlin was a better gun than the Winchester.

I have both. Well, the Marlin is mine and I bought the Henry for my son. The Henry is smoother cycling - yeah, I couldn't believe it either, but the Marlin is my / our favorite. The Henry is a good piece tho' and made right here in the U.S.A.

I still have, and shoot fairly regularly, my Marlin 39A that I purchased in 1962 at the age of 12. Almost everyone who has seen or shot it has tried to buy it off me. No sale! I love mine!

I have a Marlin, and it is a wonderful rifle. One of the earliest guns I ever shot, an excellent gun to use when teaching young shooters.
I've never seen an American flag burned at a gun show.

The nice thing about the Marlins is there are 50+ year old rifles out there, eligible for C&R and the old rifles were VERY well put together- like little works of art.

The marlin takes down into 2 halves too- I'm not sure of the golden boy does that.

                      -Dave

PS- in the old days, weren't the brass colored guns called 'Yellow Boys"? I'm sure us asians complained and it became 'Golden'
