Best Semi-Automatic Deer Big Game Hunting Rifles

Semi-automatic rifles have gained a bad reputation in some circles - mainly through ignorance - but autos have a valid place in the hunting world, and are much faster and easier to use than other types of rifles. I spent my first twenty years of deer hunting using a semi-auto, and in doing so I learned just how good and dependable an automatic deer rifle can be. The reduced recoil helps, too! Here are some of the best semi-automatic deer big game hunting rifles ever made.
    >Ruger Model 44 (44 Carbine)
This little gem tops my list because I used it almost exclusively as my deer hunting rifle for about two decades. Although this model is no longer being manufactured, I just had to include it because of my long and pleasant history with this rifle. With its handy carbine length and the hard-hitting 44 Rem Mag cartridge, this is an excellent gun for brush use at ranges out to 100 yards or so.

+1 on Browning Bar, AR15 all my choices. We carry our AR out so much the Rangers in our area knows their not "evil". First time they saw them, they confiscated one. After a good yelling by their superior, they returned it quickly and since then their fine with AR. It's something we, hunters and gun owners should keep doing so the general public won't see them as "human killers" ,only.

Well ... if you have the $$ you might want to take a look at the line of Sauer 303 rifles from Germany.

                            Standard calibers: 7 x 64, .308, .30-06, 8 x 57, and 9.3 x 62
                            Magnum calibers: .300 & .338 win mag

I am about to pull the trigger on a .300 win mag, but if I could find one, I would really like a 9.3 x 62. It is half way between a 35 Whelen and a .375 H&H and has the stopping power for just about any critter that walks the face of the earth.
