Anyone ever notices any change to POI consistency if using an oversized comp/brake, e.g. 7.62 comp on a 5.56 or 5.45 rifle? At 100 yards+.

Oversized muzzle device

While I haven't tried using an oversized muzzle device in the past, so I can't claim any experience but I suppose it's possible that the gasses are venting unevenly through the extra-wide hole. Could alter the orientation of the bullet as it exits the muzzle device in question.
Though that's totally been pulled out of the air because, as I said, I have no experience just a hypothesis. So I was driving home from the range and I noticed that the scent of warm steel, burnt gunpowder and lukewarm coffee combined and smelled oddly of... Peanut butter?! Man, the Hoppe's is going to my head.

Take half of a binocular, tape it to your rifle. -
How? Unless you change a 5.56 comp by drilling it to 7.62. But the thread patterns are not the same...at least from what I've seen.Originally posted by GottmitunsIt's not protecting the rights of the 1%, it's IMPOSING new laws because of the 1%.Comment

On a side note a oversized device wouldn't work as well, as the bullet would less effectively seal the forward port.
It my be minor enough to not be noticeable though. So I was driving home from the range and I noticed that the scent of warm steel, burnt gunpowder and lukewarm coffee combined and smelled oddly of... Peanut butter?! Man, the Hoppe's is going to my head.

AR Performance (barrel maker) almost exclusively sells his 223wylde barrels cut with 5/8x24 threads instead of the 1/2x28, because according to him it leaves the crown with that much more metal allowing for a more rigid opening.
ARP barrels are very well regarded.Comment
