    which muzzle break?

i have a 24" match grendel that im building up that has 9/16 24 thread on the end and i need to get a compensator for it.. can i use a 308 compensator and still have it work properly? what are the pros and cons of going this route as to getting one custom made to the 6.5?

It won't work as well. The hole in the end is larger and will allow more gas to escape forward instead of directing it out of the ports in the brake.

I'd bet you'd get much better results just getting what you like in .223 and drill the hole larger than 6.5mm the same amount its larger than .223 if you have the tools to do it yourself. Or it would be 5 minutes of work for a local gunsmith. Then touch up with High temp BBQ paint.

It's available from "warped" directly. You can contact warped for more info.

I love my Troy midevil break. But I dont think your plans will work as good as you want it to.

I can open up most standard 223 muzzle devices to the larger thread spec and also add the extra bullet clearance as required.

also what is the differance from the Quickcomp FSC556 and the regular FSC556 besides the price?

Warped has none available, I tried.
                  Your options right now are:
                  Ops, Inc.
Sabre Defence (yes, spelled with a "c")
Whatever brand Alexander Arms is selling, I don't recall the manufacturer.

OTOH, a muzzle brake for a 24" barrel is not really necessary. 18 or 20"? Yes, but not for a 24".

+1. My 24" 6.5 Grendel Overwatch certainly does not have nor need one.

The Quickcomp is basically the same comp as the FSC556, it just has the lugs so that you can mount the Gemtech G5 as well as the M496-D Sound Suppressors. Unless you are able to own these Sound Suppressors, you really do not need the Quick Comp.

I believe AR15Barrels can machine out one of the FSC's to meet your requirements, but I am sure he will chime in.

Randall does great machining work. He opened up an AR-10 gas block to fit my Grendel barrel; it fit like a glove and I only sent him the block without the barrel.
