get a couple tools that you need, the multi tools are the biggest waste of money for ar-15's they are complete junk. here is a good barrel nut/muzzle device tool.
http://vtsupply.com/images/TL-02.jpg that you use with a socket wrench. by far the best one i have used. multi tools are garbage unless you pay big bucks for a real armory one.

and the only other things i need are punches, and maybe a buffer tube nut wrench i used a cheapy ebay one for that doesnt matter much. i think its a TAPCO multi tool has a plastic wrap around the handle, but i only use the buffer tube wrench. this is the one i used for the buffer tube nuts http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tapco-Intraf...item20e090b9b2

and if your going to use an aftermarket free float rail. it most likely will use a proprietary barrel nut and tool anyway that comes with it, or must be purchased.

Slapping an upper onto a lower is not "building" an AR-15.

What part of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" do you illiterate pawns not understand!?

I cant recommend a good one but i can warn you about a bad one.

The American Tactical while heavy duty, full featured, and affordable, will scratch the **** out of your reciever extension threads when installing castle nut. It could be remedied by shortening the teeth on the spanner i suppose.

Im not too concerned about cosmetic blemishes, but it actually damaged the threads and imho thats crap.

Looks pretty insignificant in this pic but under the castle nut is a long scar in the threads.

that one looks decent, that one was not invented yet when i was buying my ar-15 tools. or wasn't a well known option at least. if that one is well made its hard to beat that one for 30 or 40 bucks.

and yes the cheap ones will either break or hurt your rifle or break the tool itself hurting your rifle cosmetically at least
