    Assault weapon question

I was wondering if a firearm on the banned list that was converted to single shot would still be considered an "assault weapon"? For example I want to get an Arsenal slr104 and if I were to make it into a single shot firearm would it still be illegal? Kind of like how we get around the non ca approved handgun issue by making them into "single shot" pistols. Thanks.

I have not seen a single shot option on the flow chart.

if it is a listed by name one then you cant although the option to turn listed assault rifles into shotguns has not been explored

I have never seen, or heard of an "assault weapon" only in the media & being Politically correct. It's just not a term that helps responsible gun owners. Military style sporting weapon is more like it.

Pretty sure banned by name means just that - banned, whether or not its single shot or 100 rds

SSE is in black and white on the statute, at least for now.

Does the Roberti-Roos or series list actually specify that the listed weapons have to be semi-auto, centerfire rifles? The KAC rail system is on the list and isn't a firearm at all.

well they have listed "assault pistols" listed "assault rifles" and listed "assault shotguns"

they seem to have been trying to be as specific in definitions other wise they would have just lumped them all as "assault firearms"

Not helpful in a thread about CA law.

We have to live with what the legislature has wrought (as idiotic as it may be) until it can be overturned. In this place, we have already lost the terminology war.

'Named' 'assault weapons' are banned, full stop.

'Assault weapons' 'by feature' must be centerfire semiautomatic rifles.

Does putting "military style" in front of sporting weapon really help responsible gun owners either?

I could be wrong, but i always thought single shot exemptions only apply to pistols and our cool little rosters here in CA.

I'm not sure how doable this is? But I like the way you think!
