What is that shiny stuff that I see? I see it around the selector, stock, and other button type surfaces but I have no idea what is causing it. I wiped down all the parts, it came back a few hours later. Used Ballistol, again came back a few hours later.

So I guess follow up question...is it something I should worry about? If it is, how do I get rid of it?

do you take your BCG out and spray it down with CLP before/after shooting?

if so, every time you cycle it, oil will come from the BCG and come out the crack between the upper/lower (to the selector switches) and then backwards as it travels into the buffer. also some might blow back out the top of the charging handle and then come down

like mossy eluded, when i oil my bcg and then fire it, the oil collects in the buffer tube and leaks out from time to time.

nothing to worry about its just cosmetic and gets on your clothes

Awesome. Yea I actually haven't even gotten to fire it yet, so I figured it was something Turner's did to keep it in shape. Just wanted to make sure.

Please tell me that you will clean and lubricate that weapon before you fire it.

Do not count on Turner's having done anything to it except (maybe) wipe fingerprints off if it was handled excessively.

Did you make sure to torque down the oil plug?

Electrowash will clear that oil. Most any degreaser will also.

Your gun is sobbing because it wants to be shot and you are putting back in the safe... Enough with the gun abuse.
