    Trigger Help

I recently purchased an LPK from Alpha Shooting Sports, they are running as special for calgunners for $39.95 (regular 69.95) for the kit.

The kit is pretty much your standard/mil spec kit, except for the Hammer, which is described as "Enhanced Lightened Hammer." See below:

Question is, does anyone know what difference the Hammer above would make to the shooter, versus a mil-spec Hammer?

Any info is most appreciated. Thanks.

It has a little faster dwell time.

My understanding of dwell time is completely unrelated to the Hammer -- did you mean it engages the Firing Pin quicker?

its a copy of the JP speed hammer.its used to set off heavy primers when using lighter weight springs(ie jp low power 3.5lbs springs) i do it to all my normal triggers.

        no down side at all.

Nice -- I am using it on my 7.62x39 AR, which on some kinds of Steel Case have light primer strike. You mean this hammer design can actually help mitigate that?

I think you mean faster lock time.

I just got the LPK in, and installed it.

Definitely higher overall quality compared to the only other LPK I know - PSA Classic.

But the biggest surprise was the Fire Control group and that special hammer discussed above ... BIG DIFFERENCE compared to the Mil-Spec!! Lighter, smoother, less creep and engages the Firing Pin very fast!

Killer Deal, highly recommended. The $39.95 is worth the Fire Control Group alone.

Obligatory pics (I didn't snap shots until after install):

this will explain why the hammer is smaller
