Help with AR Value - #2

I will ask the same question as a poster with a similar title except my AR is in 9mm.

It is a Spikes lower with a Spikes 9mm buffer and adjustable stock. The upper is a CMMG with an add on carry handle. It has the magwell adapter and at least 3 9mm magazines.

I built the rifle about 5 years ago as a cheap was to shoot AR. It cost me around $1200 to build.

Can anyone give me an idea of what I should ask? or is there even a demand for 9mm AR's in todays environment?

Or should I just disassemble and sell the upper, the 9mm buffer and the magwell adapter as a kit? If so, does anyone have any idea what to ask?

I am asking for advice from people in a local market where the gun would sell. Not soliciting buyers. Gun Broker and other such marketplaces are not necessarily reflective of local market conditions.

At the point I am soliciting buyers, I will post pictures and post it in the for sale/trade section.......

Try 1200$ in the sale forum. You know what it's worth. You built it and bought the parts. If it doesn't sell drop the price slowly. This is how you sell a gun.

I just don't get these threads.. they scream "I'm helpless".. just look at pages of postings, and do a little online shopping and price things again at today's market, then realize that it's used and the market is flooded.

Probably about $700-$800 in today's market. Of course, you'll have to find the right person to pay that much for it.

I would think a 9mm AR is worth more than it's equivalent 5.56. It simply cost more to build and therefore should be priced higher. That said, there will be far less buyers for any non-standard AR which means that a fair priced rifle will take longer to sell. Your price is really based on how fast you need to sell it. For instance, I may buy a 9mm AR even if I didn't particularly want one for a price like $600. At $950, well, if I was already looking for one and ready to purchase, that might be an except able price. At $1200, I would just build it myself with all the parts I wanted. The price you set will automatically determine the pool of buyers.

Best advice given. Or post on GB and set a reserve price you feel comfortable letting the rifle go for. A used rifle is a hard sell right now as new rifles are sub $700. What you paid doesn't mean a whole lot these days as prices go up and down often.

the posts are not calling you an idiot, though they are implying you are being lazy.
It is beyond easy to compare your rifle to the hundreds ... Nay, thousands of other AR for sale threads on this website alone.
Putting together these clues to deduce a fair price for your rifle is not too hard.
Putting this thread up is just being lazy and asking everybody else to do your legwork for you.

As for my opinion of your rifle's value

If uou ar trying to sell it I would say it is worth about $600 on the market at this time.
the market is soft (overloaded with ARs), and prices are down.

You WILL lose money selling now.

And lighten up Francis ... If you ask questions that are easily answered by doing your own research, you are going to get comments like the ones above.
