    Buffer spring question...

Do I need to change my buffer spring if I go from a 6 position buffer tube to an A2 buffer tube?

you will have to change spring and buffer, both tubes are different lengths.

Only if you want it to function properly.

Yes. Buffer and buffer spring are specific to the reciever extension. When running a rifle extension, you run a rifle spring and rifle buffer. When you run a carbine extension, you run a carbine buffer and carbine spring.

And depending on what stock you buy, there can be added confusion (especially with some of the magpul stocks).

                Magpul A2 Stocks:
                UBR, MOE Rifle, PRS

                Magpul Carbine Stocks:
MOE, Fixed MOE, CTR, ACS, ACS-L, STR

Note that one fixed stock uses carbine tube, and one collapsible stock uses an A2 tube. So, double check what tube your new stock needs before you buy...
