How many clicks away from zero are you?

I had a chance to zero my plain Jane CMMG upper, and with iron sights (A3 carry handle), and I noticed I needed about 12 clicks to the left of middle to get my sights zeroed on windage. (at 50 yrd)

Just out of curiousity, for your iron sights how many clicks are you from the middle to get zeroed on windage?

From what I have been told, 12 clicks from center is still acceptable.

        There's actually a mil-spec for what's acceptable.
I forget the exact number, but it's like 15 or 16 clicks I think.

I have built all my uppers and in my 18" middy, 20" GI and 11.5" (5.5FS) I'm between 1-3 clicks from center

One click right on my Stag upper but I'm left handed so that just might be because of my eye position.

What kind of stock do you have on it and what's your cheek weld like?

On my M4geries with the LMT SOPMOD buttstock, my cheekweld is forced well off centerline of the rifle, and it takes me a whole lot of clicks to compensate for the "comfort" of that wider SOPMOD buttstock. I don't have the same issue with my standard collapsible stocks or with the basic A2 buttstock on my A4geries.

I use a short "stubby" entry stock, which is a bit too short, so I have added an extra thick recoil pad for extra extension. My cheekweld is with my nose about 1/2 inch shy of touching the charging handle. My other CMMG with optics and BUIS is pretty much zero, with maybe one click left of center.

I had a brand new 20" CMMG upper gov't profile that required 20 clicks to the right to zero. I sent it back and they tooled with it and when I got it back, it takes now 6 clicks to the left to zero. It took two months to get it back, though, but they did not charge me, although I had to foot the shipping there.

It's still not shooting as well as I'd like, so, I'm looking to have Randall do a crown job on it to see if that might make a difference.
