.50 Beowulf is so hard to find and loses its accuracy at about 100 yards. Also your stuck only going through AA for everything. .300 blkout I find kind of lame , if you want to shoot 7.62 go by an AK or build a 7.62x39 upper. As far as 6.5 grendel get your barrel from jp enterprise or go to precision firearms and get a whole upper built. .50 Beowulf is to proprietary. As far as .450 Bushmaster I don't know anything about it also same goes with .458

There are a bunch of Remington 700 rifles in .308 in the Marketplace. If all you're going to do is hunting, that's all you really need.

I went 6.8. They are coming up with some higher ballistic coefficient bullets that stay supersonic to 800 or 1000 yards (SSA Berger 140 Grains). 6.8 also has much higher availability for factory ammo.
The guy further up the post that said the game can't tell the difference under 300 yards is right. If you think you are Mr. longrange hunter or super sniper, you should probably just get a 338 lm like a real operator.

If you don't plan on shooting distance and want something a little harder hitting get 6.8.

If you want pinpoint precision and an extremely accurate long range rifle go 6.5.

They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

I personally went the 6.8 route with a Spikes punisher lower and free float YHM quad rail upper. The last 6.8 ammo I bought was $12 a box (.60 per round) at my LGS.

I don't plan on shooting at game past 300 yards - the round should do everything I need it to out that far for hogs and deer.

6.8 is better bases on availability of ammo alone. Plus, its probably easier to find 6.8 barrels and mags. You won't notice the difference between the two within their respective effective ranges.

I built the Grendel for my son to be able to hunt with me without a nasty recoil rifle. Right now he weighs 80 lbs lol. As much as he eats he should weigh double that.
