Recommend me an optic with magnification but still good >100 yards

Might be able to pick up one of the older 1-4x PA scopes. Last I looked they were only a little over 100.

Ah I re-looked and saw him talk about carry handle.... Well, with an AR.. You got options. Can't hurt to go with one of the companies with lifetime warranties so that if you don't like it, you can bring it back.

Those low powered variable scopes (1-4 & 1-6 power) really shine at the 100-200 yard distance marks and are perfectly usable at closer distances when dialed back to their lowest settings. They're not as quick at those closer distances vs. unmagnified red dots but we're talking fractions of a second which most people won't even notice unless they're shooting the rifle competitively.

Ohh. Carry handle huh. Well that changes things. You wanna go with carry handle friendly devices. Acogs. Prolly your best bet or as noted above the 2.5 ACSS will use acog mounts. I think there's a burris like that too

The PA 2.5 will mount to the carry handle with purchase of a thumb screw for $3.99, totally worth it as it won't put the scope that high compared to other scopes.

Burris MTAC is supposed to be good in that 1-4x optic range? But not $200.

I've used some similar bushnell scopes, not this exact model, that were really nice. This is like 126$ off regular price, it says. I think i saw one like this in a LGS for around 300.

The major scope sellers all market an economy line - Burris Timberline, Nikon Prostaff, Leupold Rifleman. For an inexpensive 4X you might try the Burris Timberline. It's a very small scope.

At the risk of suggesting something cheap, BSA makes a 1 to 6X in their "Goldstar" line. It's only about $150.00 (at SWFA) and the magnification range is pretty good. Personally I'd spend a bit more and get something in the $250.00 range in a 1 to 4X but if you want to stay under $200.00 and get a little extra magnification the Goldstar fits the bill and is inexpensive.
