AMD 65 AK parts Kit Questions

Hey folks, two-part question here. Classic Firearms is trying to make me spend more money, and after borking up my Saiga good and proper, I thought about building something new. But first...

    1. Legality. I'm assuming that parts kits like the ones currently offered at CF are still legal here. I'd be more sure, but at the rate laws change here, I have no idea. I know that magazine parts kits are screwed now, but I wasn't sure if it was true for rifle parts kits as well.

    2. Quality. After reading reviews, it seems like the AMD 65 is an all right AK, although I have no experience with either them or the US barrels. Any thoughts would be great.

    Thanks a bunch folks.

Parts kits are parts kits; choose a flavor you like and build it.

I got 2 AMD's from Classic, 1 was in great shape, the 2nd was beat to hell.

I posted a review, but they deleted it. Classic picks and chooses the reviews that stay on their site. I wouldn't make a choice from their reviews.

AMD's are awesome though, everyone should own one.

Well that's an excellent answer, thanks. Looks like my account is about to get lighter.

Now next question, where would I go to get a receiver? Kinda lost when it comes to parts kits - the most gun modification work I've done is converting my Saiga (poorly).

Get a nodak spud 100% receiver. You're going to need a lot of tools to finish the build+922r compliance.

I've got access to a good sized shop, so I should be set. Only thing I'm lacking is a press at this point.

You'll need some special tools. Go to ak-builder.com. They have everything you need.
