Looking for a clear, basic clean/lube guide

In anticipation of picking up my first semi-auto rifle (M&P15 Sport) I have begun familiarizing myself with proper care and started reading the manual and looking at other sites/videos.
One thing that is not real clear is lubrication points on the rifle. The manual states "all metal parts" which is clear as mud.
I understand that rifles need to be run wetter than pistols, and am proficient in cleaning my pistols and bolt-action rifle.
Takedown looks simple enough to the point of being able to remove the BCG to get the bolt and firing pin out. I know how to clean a rifle barrel but what about the buffer spring, etc.?

Anybody have any good references/links for a noob?

        ar15 cleaning and lubrication

I would focus on the 4th and 5th hits.

        /Thread.

But I know that's a completely unrealistic wish.
