    PTR-91 "Evil Features"

From my understanding adding a "bullet button" device to a PTR-91 allows the use of a pistol grip and or "evil features" similiar to the AR-15 correct? My PTR-91 came from Lan World Inc. with the flash hider removed... As soon as I install the Radd lock I am free to re-install it correct? Rich at Irvington Arms said something about having to install a muzzle break instead - hence my confusion. Thanks for the help!

with a magazine lock you are allowed all the evil features in the world. Including that flash hider.

Is the paratrooper version of the PTR-91 legal in california. It has a telescopic stock and 16" barrel.

run that configuration through the AW flowchart, http://www.calguns.net/caawid/flowchart.pdf , and you'll get your answer. Try it with and without a mag-lock

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

As long as the overall length in a fireable condition is greater than 30", it's good to go.

Normally, telescoping stocks are within that limit, folders must be pinned so they cannot fold. There are some CA versions of underfolders that fold the FCG with the stock. They would be legal because they cannot be fired when folded.

              Example:
              Kel-Tec SU-16CA is legal:

SU-16C is not unless a 5" extension is mounted permanently to the barrel:

weird.. are you sure they LanWorld removed the flash hider? You'll need some special tools to put that back (search for threads here on muzzle brake install). If they shipped it w/o the flash hider, they should've removed the pistol grip also.

I was going to buy one a while back, IIRC the 16" bbl leaves you about 1.5" short. PTR sells an 18" barreled version, it makes 30" with a collapsible stock.

Perhaps on an AR, but not on a PTR 91. Flash hider screws by hand has this little tension clip built into it that holds it in place when screwed down all the way. Took mine off routinely for cleaning and it threads back on all the way by hand.
