Lefty-Bullet-Button Lower?

It seems like the intended way to drop a mag in an AR is to hold the rifle by the pistol grip, use index finger to operate the release, and change magazine with the left hand.

The bullet button clearly screws up this operation.

It seems like it would be better to do a left-hand mag release. This way you can still hold the rifle by the pistol grip with the right hand, and use your left hand to do mag switching and dropping - possibly with an ultimate bullet button tool.

Does this make sense? Is there a lower out there like this?

i hold the handguard while doing mag changes on a BB'd AR, seems to be the least awkward way ive found

i dont see the point in the left side BB as i would never use it for HD or anything that required fast mag changes anyway

haha i do, but at the same time id rather just set it up featureless and not have to worry about a tool to drop mags

the bullet buttons on my range rifles do get annoying but those are never kept loaded for HD

Being a lefty, I can say that being able to turn my AR pistol (the only BB I have, all others are featureless) makes it easy to get a tool into the BB and release the magazine. The OP is onto something leftys have known for some time, good observation.

If you go featureless, you can install a norgon ambi mag release on any lower and won't need the bullet button anymore.

That would negate the need to use an ambi mag release, and more or less is irrelevant to the discussion at hand anyways.

The whole point is a better configuration of the bullet button for right handed people.
