I have a Harris bipod for my M1A, I was reading on the Springfield website that i need a QD Stud for the bipod, what is that and where can i get one and how to install it on the rifle with the bipod. Thanks for your help and your info.

    M1A bipod

Try Fulton's web-site. I think they have what you are looking for.

      It's not a simple task.

You'll need to do some cutting of the stock.

The "M1A" adaptor from harris is NOT what you want - it attaches to the barrel.

Just send it back to Springfield pay the $45 and have them do it and have it be covered by their lifetime waranty. That's what I did.

Do they do this to the National Match glass bedded stocks too? $45 for the service, plus shipping isn't too bad to get it done right and keep your warranty.

Even if it is a little more it is worth it to keep it under factory waranty. Yes I'm sure they'd do it properly as not to mess up your bedding job...and even if they did...it's 100% lifetime coverage. A major reason for buying Springfield. My turnaround was less than one week. I Federal Expressed on Monday and got it back Friday.

No need to waste money shipping your rifle anywhere. Seriously, it is a $13 dollar part. You stock only bedded at the receiver, not the forearm.

Get the Harris 2R Bipod adapter, then go here http://www.fulton-armory.com/HarrisB...structions.pdf

the instructions in the link I provided are a bit more in-depth than that.

It's not a simple task, but it's doable.

Be sure to NOT put it in the hole already in the stock as that's for venting.
