PRE ban POST ban confusion.

Some of you may already know that I'm building my first AR Oll into a rifle within the next few days. I just wanted to know if when I order my parts kit if I have to worry about whether or not the parts are pre ban or post ban. I have a spikes tactical OLL, a bullet button gen 2, and a ten round magazine.
What are your thoughts???

that is referring to the federal ban, which is no longer in effect. Dont worry about that. Get familiar with CA laws instead.

If you're doing a bullet button you can use "pre-ban" parts all you want.

It gets tricky if you want to run a featureless rifle. You can still use "pre-ban" uppers because bayonet lugs are not AW features in CA and the flash hiders can be replaced with a muzzle break.

The flash hider and bayonet lug are really the only difference. They are omited on "post ban" rifles from the '94-04 federal ban. These are more like leftovers from that time period.

Pre-ban and No-ban parts are the same.

Some states have bans that mostly mirror the old federal ban.
People in those states still need to buy postban configured uppers.

Don't buy any AK parts.

Stick with ARs.

Buy AR stuff.

Don't buy any 7.62x39 or 5.45x39. It is crap. The only stuff worth shooting is Federal or Winchester 5.56.

Tell everyone you know that AK stuff is crap and they should stay far far away from it.

Period. That is my advice.

We don't need more converts. We need more former ComBlocs to join NATO so they need to cut up their nice new AKs and dump their x39 for 5.56.

I like AKs and all, but they're no better than ARs... They're barely cheaper anymore, which is annoying. I miss $75 kits.
