Is this a bad way to buy a parts kit?

That's what I'm planning on buying in a couple of days for my first AR build.

I have never heard from this company. I suggest you go to dealers that support CA

I'm not sure what you mean by "parts kit". Do you already have an OLL?

Anyway, regarding this company I have no experience with them, but...

I compiled a couple uppers on your linked website that compared pretty evenly(in terms of features, not necessarily quality) with some CMMG, Armalite and Bushmaster (good, middle of the road brands) and the prices were about the same.
I guess if it were me, I'd buy a known commodity in one of the better known manufacturers.
There are a couple threads on ranking manufacturers, but goes something like this:
        LMT>Armalite>CMMG>Bushmaster>Rock River/Stag>DPMS/Model 1

And +1 to above, support the CalGuns vendors. I've had good luck with CWS, Riflegear, e-guns & Aloha Rover (forget his company name).

        ETA: Avoid ShootForLess though...

I cannot spend more than $570.00 with everything to complete the rifle. Planning on m4 build with detach A3 and flat top.

Try it out and let us know.

I'd just be concerned that these are rejected parts from .gov orders.

thanks guys. I am a student on a budget and am not really willing to spend a very large sum of money to be able to enjoy my oll.

You're going to have to buy some very used parts if 570 is all you've got to complete the rifle.

$570 doesn't include the OLL, right???

I spent less than $500 on a complete CMMG 16" MedCon Medium Upper (including B/C/CH). Get a complete A2 buttstock assembly for $50 and MMG for $30 and your only at $580.

You can always add nicer components later, but you'll regret if you get a subpar upper. Add a Magpul CTR or LMT SOPMOD (but you'll need different buffers/tubes/etc.), a nice grip, BUIS, etc. later.

There are often good deals to be had in the marketplace here and on other forums. You just need to be quick on the trigger, so to speak.

If you're willing to wait and seek out deals a part at a time, you could do well.

I finally got around to putting a $300 upper on a lower that I paid $150 for. It was complete with an A2 stock and LPK. So, for $450, I have another complete AR in 5.56. My dedicated .22lr build cost about $500 total. If you shop around, you can get some good deals. All parts were used and purchased from Calgunners except one new lower from CWS, purchased within the two week window and a LPK from midway? I think.
