Good Place to buy Rem 700 in SoCal?

I'm sure this will elicit a ton of opinions... I see these rifles online at various retailers for some pretty reasonable prices but then I go into a major retailer near my house *cough-Turners-cough* and they want alot more for it. Is this just the way its going to be when you factor in shipping, transfer fees etc. from any online retailer?

I'd much rather support a mom and pop shop, especially one that is loyal to calguns and OLLs. Let me know if you guys have any feedback. I'm looking for a decent selection OR somebody who can order with decent turnaround.

FWIW I want a Rem 700 SPS in 7mm Rem Mag. The deal I thought I had with a private party fell through. TIA!

I would suggest calling one of the more friendly FFLs associated with this board and seeing what they can do for you. If they can't get the cost down, ask what their transfer fee is (DROS + fee + tax (if any)) and whether it would be cheaper to use, say, Bud's Gun Shop.

+1 Check with a local "Calguns approved" FFL and see what kind of deal you can get.

        OR

Bud's Gun Shop has good prices and shipping is included in their pricing. Just factor in and additional 40-60 transfer fee + 25 more for dros.

I gave up on getting guns at reasonable prices in-state. I saved $500 on a Sig P229 ($950 at Turner's, $450 out of state) and $700 on a Steyr Scout JC ($2200 at B&B Sales, $1500 out of state). Where did I find these out-of-state deals? Gunbroker.com. To support the local shops, I buy gunpowder, slings, cases, targets, and ammo; sometimes I get bullets and reloading tools locally too.
