    saiga or wasr10?

which one looks like u can get a saiga for about 389.99 plus all the other stuff you have to pay for dros etc. etc.

    OR

a century wasr10 48?.?? plus dros etc. which already has the pistol grip and what not and will need no converting to have it accept ak mags etc.

was going to save up and buy a krebs but it looks as if he uses saiga for the base of his builds? any input would be great! thanx in advance!

i am so tempted to pick that converted saiga up. but dang its running around $600 +. Do you think the cost will be pretty much the same if you buy a saiga and convert it yourself???

I'm not a fan of the WASR. I would rather spend $100-150 more and get something that won't need to be fixed up out of the box - like a Henderson, Firing Line, Vector, etc.

The lancasters have a better fit and finish than the WASR's. Buy 2 Saiga's and convert 1 and dont forget the radlock. Slap a bullet guide into both so you can use AK mags. No pistol grip = no Radlock(mag lock)

Century does the WASR correct? If so it felt cheaply made to me,like it was slapped together and kicked out the door. I haven't checked out the Henderson,Vector or the others, but I did hold a Lancaster and it feels and looks like there was some love involved. At the gunshow the WASR were 599 and the Lancaster's were 749$ and you could feel the difference

If you dont really care about looks and overall finish of the gun then stick with a WASR. I have nothing against the WASR-10 but if you dont want to convert then spend an extra $100-200 for the better AK's. For California purposes though, the Saiga is the best bet because you dont have to worry about a maglock.

Yes, and I agree with all of this.

A WASR just needs work and it can be a good gun. There's not a lot of substantive differences, but as we all know, it's the details that all add up.

true. i feel that after i hit the $750-800 area i mine as well save up $200 more and buy a krebs. i was just looking into the inexpensive route cause theres no telling how this year will end and i want atleast an ak and one more stripped OLL before the year is out so i will be covered!
