So I want to put a .308 together and from what i read its better to buy a complete then build from scratch. Do what uppers would you suggest? I dont need a lower I have a 80 lower ima slap it on. Dpms is the pattern im gling to go with. I would like to find a 20" upper or maybe longer. This is going to be a precision build that i can try and achieve sub moa accuracy. All suggestions are welcome as im not as familiar with the .308 platform as i am with ar15.

With uppers, I would definitely buy a complete upper unless you have the tooling, knowledge, and skill. Things like headspacing are critical.
JP for serious money and serious shooting. Primary Weapons Systems Mk2 uppers for long stroke piston/work guns (don't be warded off by the piston, she's still a lightweight
). DPMS SASS for budget minded.

I 2nd the use of JP for your build, or if you have money, you can go with their .308 upper also, but you are going to spend A LOT of money for a complete upper.
if you have the tools, or if you can farm out the work to a gunsmith, why not buy the components YOU want, then build up your "dream" rifle?
I never had problems with a DPMS upper. There are some billets out there like MEGA, etc, but its all in how much money you want to spend. for me, the critical part where i am going to want to spend the coin was the barrel, trigger, bcg, adjustable gas block, and bolt.
here is a link to the specs and pics of my build. I am at 1/2" MOA with this rifle and I absolutely love this thing. My build out without optics was around $2,800, which includes accessories i put on like handguard rails. if i bought this as a complete, it would probably be 500-800 more.
Im a snob, and chose JP for all my critical components
