. 50 Beowulf.. legal or not?

Are .50 Beowulf rifle legal to purchase or own in California? They do look nice and can handle special hunting needs. Thanks.

Yes. They're fine. Just comply with all the assault weapon requirements, I.e maglock or featureless.

The .50 caliber that is banned is the 50 BMG in shoulder fired weapons. All other rounds that are .50 caliber are legal in any weapon.

The .50 BMG is legal in a crew serviced weapon (semi-auto M2) or a pistol.

30525. As used in this part, ".50 BMG cartridge" means a cartridge
that is designed and intended to be fired from a center fire rifle
and that meets all of the following criteria:
(a) It has an overall length of 5.54 inches from the base to the
tip of the bullet.
(b) The bullet diameter for the cartridge is from .510 to, and
including, .511 inch.
(c) The case base diameter for the cartridge is from .800 inch to,
and including, .804 inch.
(d) The cartridge case length is 3.91 inches.

I finished my Beowulf build a couple weeks ago and have some advice....be patient.
Upper.....hard to find
ammo.....hard to find
If you reload
Brass....hard to find
bullets...hard to find
powder...hard to find
Other than that, its awesome. Ive only ran a few test loads through mine to test function. Just loaded up 50 rounds using 300gr Hornady FTX bullets and I have 1000 335gr Rainier PHP on back order. Starline has/had brass but you have to buy 250 pieces ($200)

I just checked and Midway has the A3 Entry in stock. I picked up the A3 AWS because I really wanted the tank break.
