you need Armalite or DPMS pattern specific for 308.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Welcome to the build that will empty your wallet over time. I am $1300 in right now and have another $1200 before I finish and that does not include optic....

Do a bit of research before you buy. AR-15 lowers are pretty much the same, but there are armalite pattern AR-10 lowers, DPMS pattern LR-308 lowers (the most common) and KAC pattern lowers (I think they might be availible).

There is nothing wrong with wanting a similar firearm that you saw in a movie, but it can be a bit more complicated.

FYI, some of u already know this, but I didn't so imma pass it on... I ordered a dpms lower and shortly I got a call from the company saying that is says "Panther" on it. Apparently any panther stamp is on the Cali BAN list. Boo! But I finally found a .308 lower, paid $303 after shipping

An AR-10 is a money pit. Sucking me dry for crying out loud. I spent around $900 just on the lower. Billet DPMS lower, CMMG parts kit, Geissele SD-E, Magpul MIAD grip and Magpul UBR stock with the strike plate.

TM-308. Beautiful anodized receivers. Utilizes a rear threaded detent and threaded bolt catch pin. Also uses specific (included) allen set screws for the threaded holes. No roll pins to hammer.

You have (2) 308 patterns to choose from

                            A) AR-10 - The original Armalite design
                            B) LR-308 - DPMS version of the Armalite design

The AR-10 pattern seems to be limited to aftermarket support so you have to do more researching/searching for parts you want & need. Where as the LR-308 has more aftermarket options which you will have somewhat of an easier time finding parts. However, I do believe companies who uses the AR-10 pattern are now adapting their lowers/uppers to use LR-308 parts such as the BCG and barrel.

I would probably go with the LR-308 pattern over the AR-10 pattern because of the aftermarket support. Though, the AR-10 is nice to have just because it can legitimately be called a AR-10 and it would cool to able to say that you actually own an AR-10

Darn those threads are cool. Until you strip them out. Then what?
