AR parts. What am I looking at?

The top shoulder thingy that goes up in the pic below is the item in question. Explanation and measurements to follow.
    From bottom to top:

    15 buffer
    10 buffer
    15 buffer
    15 tube
??? Tube. Came with ar15 buffer kit. It is just about long enough to use the ar 15 buffer and spring in an ar 10.

    Measurement of the tubes

Possibly a Vltor A5 receiver extension.

Only 6 positions...ar47 stuff? Anyone can fathom why it would be 1 inch longer?

Gun show is not a place you wanna buy some questionable stuff.

I mean I wouldn't be able to tell what was commercial or mil-spec stuff myself.

It's easy to tell the difference, the threads on a commercial receiver extension are cut into the tube so the thread diameter is the same as the rest of the part.

Mil-spec receiver extensions have rolled threads and the threads end up being slightly larger than the tube.

A long time ago there was a guy on Weapon Evolution who had a rifle action spring and a rifle buffer in his carbine buttstock and we were trying to figure out how it was even possible.

Apparently there's a company that makes extended carbine-style buffer tubes that take rifle buffer parts, and the buttstock is pinned in place in the last position making it a fixed stock.

              Posts disappeared? Anyways...

Mil spec has a flat bottom to the buffer where commercial has a slant.

****The carbine buffer tube accepting a rifle buffer sounds like it might be correct. Now I just need to see the specs of a rifle buffer. Thanks m16!

                    Thank you^

Going crazy here. I'm convinced it's a wrong size Chinese knockoff. Nothing will work perfectly.

Now, as far as a bubba build, a standard ar15 buffer can be used in this longer tube ON A DPMS 308 with a few washers dropped in the end (about 1/4 of an inch worth), the spring would hold em. If i needed to use it I guess I could. But most likely it'll sit. :-/

No those are 3/4 inch longer this is 1" longer

                        Armalite carbine buffer:
                        1. 3 1/4" long
                        2, 5.4 ounces
                        3. Uses the same spring as the Armalite rifle buffer
                        4. Uses an Armalite AR10 carbine buffer tube that's approx. 3/4" longer than an AR15 tube

                        DPMS carbine buffer:
                        1. 2 1/2" long
                        2. 3.4 ounces
                        3. Uses a special DPMS 308 carbine spring
                        4. Uses an AR15 carbine length buffer tube
