    Shortest 5/8-24 muzzle

Any recommendation for a 5/8-24 thread muzzle brake? I would like to have the shortest if possible.

I have an AAC single chamber in 5/8X24 - works well and at 1.3" is pretty short. It's also pretty wide diameter, at it's widest point of about 1.1". What I like about it, when used on a heavier barrel, is that it has "rolled over" tail end instead of plain flat. Gives a finished look and a few peel washers really can't be seen. Very clean.

You might want to look at the Armalite single chamber. I'm not sure of exact length but it's fairly stubby.

+1 on the AAC NSM(non-suppressor mounting) brake. I have one from a previous build. I wrote a little thread on it here.

The brake itself is a little over an inch, but remember a portion of that is overlapping with the barrel threading. Once cranked on with a crush washer, it only added about 5/8" to my rifle. If you want to go even shorter use shims and rockset from AAC, it'll probably barely extend a 1/2" off the crown of your barrel.

Oh, and works surprisingly well for being such a short single stage brake.

There's also the PWS TTO and the Rainer Arms something... It's like a XTC without the flash hiding prongs
