New Gun Sales For 2014?

Is it too soon to tell or have gun sales been permanently slowed by the new laws? It would be interesting to hear from some vendors.

Nationally I think sales have slowed down a little. Most gun dealers have some inventory and it's staying on their shelves longer. Even some of the harder to get guns are easier to buy and pop up on the market more frequently.

As for California, the rush will continue as long as the gun haters keep coming after our 2A rights.

Stats are 'lagging indicators', so a good guess probably would not be available before June 2014, and 'official' info from CA not until 2016.

Why that should be so, I do not know, but their published data is a couple years old.

Anecdotal, but I was at a small local-ish shop last Saturday doing a couple of PPT sales. The shop owner stated he was surprised at the high number of other DROSes which occurred in the few minutes between the 2 which he put through for my buyers. We discussed this a little and he stated that things in 2014 had been overall slower than 2013, and much slower than December of 2013, but that business was really rather good.
