    Paint job in Bay Area

Not sure if this is the right subforum so my apologies if so. Does anybody in the East Bay Area know how to paint camo on an ar15? It's something I've been wanting to do for a while but do not possess any artistic skills. I'm Looking to take te easy way out and pay someone to do it for me. Thanks in advance.

Rustoleum and Krylon aren't super durable but that is kind of the beauty of them. Easy to remove or touch up or change.
          Very easy to apply too

I just did my .270 with Rustoleum Khaki and Olive Drab. Why pay someone? Light coats, should only take you about an hour. It is wearing off like bowl of mexican shake weed though lol. Should of did some light sanding. Oh well just going to go over it again when I mount a scope.

Yeah what plink said. Rustoleum or krylon aren't gonna be super durable and tough like a cerakote would be. It was gonna cost around 200 to do mine in patriot brown. I decided I should just do it myself. I hear its easy to remove with acetone and it doesn't hurt the black anodizing underneath. I personally kinda like the chipped and faded look on a job like mine. It hasnt started to chip I just did it last week but if it was more smooth with exacting lines I would want it to be more durable. I may be wrong but a duracoat or cerakote job with 2 or more colors for camo will be even more pricey. I think for you alumahyde 2 or kyrlon sealed with a ultra flat clear would be best. I didnt even seal mine I kinda forgot haha.

Greg at Kerley's (sp?) does great cerakoting I haven't had cause to paint mine yet but if I did I'd go that way from seeing his work and knowing him personally.

Ask Brentwood Armory they have a guy that does some great work. The air cure cerakote Is very durable and easy to use. I have painted several AK's and rifle stocks and it works great.
