where to get cal-legal ak-74

hi, folks,

I am new here and hopefully get a couple pointers.

Long story short, I am considering amongst ak-47, ar-15 and ak-74. Eventually, think ak-74 is suitable for me at this moment: a fair accurate rifle at 200~400yard, with reasonable price(yeah, cheap) ammo, and can be a good rifle for range-shooting and home-defense.

so my question is: where to get a ak-74 that is legal in CAL? And hopefully, not to expense($600~$800). I checked big-5 and dicks', and they don't carry it.

Check the markteplace there is one in there for sale for $800. I think the seller's name is 1911 shooter or something like that.

5.45 is not a good home defense gun unless you live in the sticks without neighbors in a 3 mile radius.

check out the MP. Unconverted Saiga's will be your best bet if you can find one in 5.45, next best bet would be to build one

Where are you located? I was looking to sell (or trade) my brand new Molot VEPR in 5.45. The Molot VEPR's are often considered the Cadillac of AK's. Fit and finish is second to none. 1.6 mm receiver versus usual 1mm receiver. Heavy barrel that is the same used on the RPK as well as adjustable rear sight used on the RPK.

Anyways, mine is brand new and unfired. Comes with tons of upgrades, US Palm grip, Rifle Dynamics AR stock adapter. Polymer handguard. Accepts AK mags.
