    Kit for first build

This will be my first build and I want a standard carbine with a carry handle.

    Looking at this kit http://palmettostatearmory.com/index...rifle-kit.html

    What do you think?

Wait, do you want the carry handle built into the upper, or one with a detachable carry handle? Just checking for clarity's sake. The one you linked to is a standard flat top, so the carry handle would be a separate piece. Not a big deal, but just making sure that you know.

As for the kit, PSA is very good, especially for the price. That one is nice, but you might keep an eye on their daily and weekend specials. You can sometimes get the exact same thing for a bit less.

Looks like everything but the Lower reciever, Bullet button, and the carry handle itself. if you shop around you should be able to complete the kit for under $200

Thanks, ya I knew that, but figured I can add one on if I wanted it.

What do you think of the carry handle for sights? I just like the looks of them.

Works just fine. A lot of the decent flip up rear sights basically copy the aperture and windage adjustments of the carry handle. Just make sure you get a good one like Colt, LMT, BCM, or Spikes Tactical. Some of the cheapie no name ones you'll find on amazon or ebay won't keep their zero.
