    Which LaRue SPR/QD Mount?

I need help choosing a LaRue SPR mount for my LR308 M110/SPR rifle.

This is basically centered and going to be focused around CaPRC and throwing some pills up to 1000 on desert days. I'm pretty set on the SWFA 3-15x 42mm (30mm tube). My issue is I don't want to run a cheek riser or cheek piece that may hinder charge handle manipulation but I want the tightest cheek weld for the A2/UBR I will be using for this rifle.

LaRue Tactical SPR / M4 Scope Mount QD LT104 (1.5" scope center line from rail)

LaRue Tactical SPR-S Mount LT158 (1.44" center line)

LaRue Tactical Scope Mount QD LT745 (1.5" center line but come in a 10/20 MOA option)

Again my main concern and focus is for the proper cheek weld with a UBR/A2 AR stock.

But the LT745 is pretty tempting due to the MOA base option to help me mess around with my 700 at 800 to 1000 yards which is REALLY tempting for the LR desert stuff. But if I don't get a good cheek weld I don't know how happy I'll be since I wont get a good scope alignment.

you're going to want the LT745 and get the 20MOA rail. I dont have problems with cheek welds with the LT104, which is the same centerline as the 745. If you want to throw pills out to 1K, get the 20MOA for sure, otherwise, you'll be on the cusp of running out of elevation on your scope.

The other option if you still think you'll have cheekweld problems is get a PRS OR...get a MOE or CTR stock with the Larue RISR, which wont impede on the charging handle.

OH YEA..GUN IS LOOKING GOOD MY FRIEND!

Ok, I'm going to be realistic here and say that if you are really interested in a "precision" long range rig, choose something other than a Larue mount. Here is a list of the reasons why:

1: On a precision gun, do you really need to have QD? That would be the only advantage of it vs a fixed mount. Chances are you are not going to be popping it off and switching to irons during a match.

2: It's not going to work on your 700 because it will be too high above the centerline of the bore. Most people running bolt rigs are going to want low rings and the height of any of the Larue is going to be too high.

3: The vertical split ring design of the Larue mount is going to obscure your elevation turret. For a precision gun, you are going to want to be able to quickly view and adjust your elevation and you cannot do this with a Larue mount unless you break cheekweld. This is why most precision rifle mounts have the traditional horizontal top rings.

If you are looking for a good one piece 20 MOA mount for a flat top receiver there are many companies that make them, the Nightforce unimount would be my first consideration.
