    HK SL7 adapted magazine

I have an SL7 I'd like to get some mags for but they are hard to find and expensive. I'm looking to find a similar mag that I can adapt to fit. My problem is that the magwell is tapered to the front and requires a tapered mag. Does anyone know of a rifle with a similar shaped mag? TIA

I believe the magazine is proprietary to HK and the SL7/SL8 rifles have been discontinued. try going on HK centric forums and see of there's an adapter for AR mags. good luck

Great hunting rifle. Sadly parts are expensive and they're getting rare. HK 770 magazines are the same, it's the same gun just sold under a different name overseas. You're still looking at about $125 per mag for 3 rounders and $170 for 10 rounders.

Yes its tapered, narrower at the front than the rear.
For the SL7, no, you are stuck with factory mags.
There have some folks that have adapted AR mags for the SL6.
        SL8 is totally different.

Yeah I love the rifle, received it as a gift from my dad in the mud '80s and now the mags are starting to show their age. I haven't seem a 3 round mag in a while and the 10 rounders I've seen are going for $250-300. I've been contemplating going to a 3D printing company and seeing if they could make a copy but I'm not sure they'll do it because of copyrights or what the cost will be.

Copyright doesn't matter, just so long as you don't represent it as an HK factory magazine or use HK logos.
The sections on the mag aren't big enough to make it out of plastic, so 3D printing is out.
It really needs to be made out of steel.
