Metcalf Range...was their ever plans for 200+ yd range?

Just curious if there was ever, or will ever be a 200+ range. Right now, there is a 200 yard range, but is only open once a month. I thought I heard rumors of someone wanting to build one. but farther into the hills.

    >200yds proved not feasible. There was some talk about pits, but possible drainage issues stopped that. FYI, the 200yd firing line, targets and storage shack were all built and are maintained by volunteer members of the San Jose Zouaves and Santa Clara Valley Rifle Club.

Any drainage issues cant be any worse than Richmond. The pit is below sea level, has two pumps.Rarely does it flood, except during the extreme hightide and pouring down rain.
      Keep it simple!

Guessing it would be along drive for OP, but Sac Valley has public range out to 300 yards. Club members can go out to 600m steel range. They have full 1000 yard range but access is limited.

Lincoln has a 200 yard range.

Yes they are. There should be a 3x600 match next Sat and an across the course match on Sun.

Coalinga is where California State Highpower and Service Rifle matches are held. It's a great place to shoot, but bring your own water, stuff that comes out of the taps tastes like burning.

frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?
