Best AR10 Upper, Need Input!

Still piecing together my AR10, need suggestions on a good upper. Any suggestions, fellas? DPMS STYLE!!!!

Best opinion is simply build one.. only way you'll get exactly what you want.
JP enterprise is awesome. I used a lot of their parts in my build.

Didn't state what the rifle's purpose is. 308 battle rifle? 308 SASS style?
Want a tack driver, or just want to throw big lead down range?

There's a lot of good uppers on the market, but it's so incredibly easy to just mix and match and build your own upper. Only difference is, you'll have to torque your barrel nut, and you'll have to check your headspace. That's it. If your local gunsmith / shop is cool about it, they'll just let you borrow their headspace jig for 2 minutes and check go/no-go and you're outta there. (I usually buy a box or two of ammo so I don't feel like a complete free-loader.)
I've done it 5 times now on various rifles and I won't ever buy a completed barreled upper again.





In this case, I'm using a SI Defense lower, coupled with a CMMG flat side upper. It was a high dollar build, but I'm getting the 1/3 MOA grouping I originally set out to achieve.
My second build is a 308 battle rifle, and still have easily 1 MOA out of it. Upper was considerably cheaper than buying a custom 308 upper from another company. It's just not as nice as this build turned out.

best ar10 dpms style is all relative... if looking for bolt accuracy out of semi auto. GAP10. wait time might be 6 months. i waited 11 months for my upper. check out snipershide.com for some info. also on gunbroker maybe able to find an upper for sale no wait.

I'll be doing long range shooting on this one solely, I decided. Will be doing a 24-26" barrel.

Contact Brad at Cason Engineering, Eldorado hills CA. They have an awesome lineup of billet .308 stuff. This is top notch machining, I have several of their uppers and lowers. Tolerances are spot on and he offers a range of coatings and colors.

Well, I appreciate all the help guys, but I may just eat my own words and buy an off-the-shelf built upper from Turner's, just like this one. I decided not to build my own due to time constraints (I have no time! lol) and copped out. I would like to change the muzzle brake/flash hider on this guy though. Anyone have this SASS upper? Thanks again.

The Mega Maten is the best, ok one of the best... lol.
but nice SASS, which is an LR308, AR10 is for Armalite and its patterns, it can get confusing because AR10 gets thrown around alot.

You know DPMS is coming out with the GII line of 308 semi's.

I dont have that complete upper but I got that barrel and the dpms upper receiver. Installed it myself. Its a 0.75 -1 moa gun.
