Im thinking of going with a 12" free float on a 20" bbl and use a standard A2 sight post.
I was looking at the PXT FFSSR but it is only 11.5" , would that work? Im thinking the gap would be rather large.

I know the 13" rail will cover the gasblock on the rifle lenght system.

It will be complemented with a magpul STR or ACL-s stock. UCWRG GRIP 23 and a nikon 223 BDC scope. Color will be OD but might go FDE

The gap wouldn't be that big if you leave the handguard retaining plate in place behind the FSB... maybe 1/8" gap. You can also contact Parallax to see if they are willing to chop down a 13" for you... they have their own inhouse shop that can do that kind of work, just will cost $.
